This past weekend, our team celebrated the Riley Park Pump Track unveiling with Greenfield Parks and Recreation! As a sponsor, US Aggregates® was proud to supply 64k tons of material for the new track. The ribbon cutting coincided with National Bike Month and Greenfield Parks and Recreation’s annual Bike Bash.
PumpTrax USA, a Cleveland-based trail company built the track last fall. Their team has created intricate BMX tracks all over the world, including Olympic and Pan American Game-level tracks.
US Aggregates Sales Manager Jordan Holt served on the committee and helped see the project through completion. Jordan joined the project in 2017, and as a two-wheel athlete and advocate, it was a no brainer when his friend who also competed in BMX asked him to join the project. “It’s exciting being able to create a space for kids of the community to get outside and be active,” shared Jordan.
The pump track incorporates a mix of short hills and valleys that have rollers at their summits. As riders go over each valley they are able to glide across the rollers and gain speed and momentum. The pump track is located in the newly created teen zone on the north end of Riley Park.
Park Director Ellen Kuker estimated the cost to build the pump track was around $237,000. The community came together to cover expenses through grants and donations from local businesses and organizations including Hancock County Tourism, The Community Foundation of Hancock County and Hancock Flat 50.
Thank you, Jordan Holt, for all your dedication and passion to bringing such an awesome track to the community! US Aggregates is proud to be a part of such an awesome project build in Hancock County. We can’t wait to see Jordan do some tricks and a wheelie or two!
