Ryan Byrd joined US Aggregates® as a Maintenance/Equipment Operator six years ago at our 243 Quarry!
Before joining the team, he worked at Crown Equipment and Phoenix Fabricators as a welder and fabricator.
He works daily on troubleshooting and repairing any equipment that needs to be fixed around the quarry via fabrication work. Ryan is detail oriented and takes pride in his work. He enjoys learning new skills and is excited to continue to advance his career at US Aggregates.
243 Quarry Plant Manager Lee Toney shared that Ryan’s best quality is his great attitude and work ethic. “He faces challenges head-on and always gets the job done. He is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to jump in and help,” shared Lee. Ryan also serves as a great trainer for new and experienced employees.
Recently, Ryan stepped in to support our Springville location, where his hands-on expertise and problem-solving mindset made a noticeable difference. His impact was felt immediately, helping the team overcome challenges and keep operations running smoothly.
Ryan recommends that new miners stay focused as everything changes fast and encourages them to learn from senior coworkers and not be afraid to ask questions.
Outside of work, Ryan loves spending time at home with his family. He also has a knack for working on home improvement projects.
US Aggregates is incredibly grateful for the energy, mentorship and positivity Ryan brings to 243 Quarry every day. His ability to mentor those around him and tackle challenges head-on continues to make a lasting impact on the entire team.
