About This Location

Originally a greenfield site, Deer Creek Quarry in Putnam County opened in 2017. In 2019, US Aggregates acquired this location from North American Limestone. The plant shares a site with Midwest Calcium Carbonates, LLC, which also became an operation within US Aggregates in 2019. Deer Creek Quarry offers specialty products like scrubber stone, used by Duke Energy, and a dark red clay derived from the area’s overburden that is utilized by the General Shale Brick company. The plant is active in its community, partnering with the IDNR and local Area 30 Career Center, as well as stepping in to help the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry and the Pantry Coalition at the height of the global pandemic.
