A Day of Celebration & Connection: US Aggregates® Kicks Off the Year Together

US Aggregates® recently hosted its first company‑wide kickoff event, bringing all employees together at The Heritage Group’s Center for a day of celebration, connection, and renewed energy for the year ahead. The event opened with remarks from Heritage Construction and Materials (HC+M) CEO Geoff Dillon, who shared valuable insight into how all HC+M operating companies collaborate and support one another. Following this, the US Aggregates leadership team outlined their strategic vision as we continue to grow and strengthen our business. 

Our special guest for the day was motivational rockstar keynote speaker Mark Kamp (also known as Marvelless Mark). Through his high‑energy, interactive “rockstar mindset” experience, the team explored how to build stronger alignment, elevate performance, and pursue bold, ambitious goals. From airguitar moments to stories of legendary musicians and even hearing the big dreams of our own team members, the session delivered inspiration, excitement and plenty of memorable highlights. 

The team followed the keynote with an HC+M operating company panel featuring Milestone, Asphalt Materials, Inc., Evergreen and US Aggregates focused on our Shared Bets: business excellence, innovation, sustainability and talent. A US Aggregates talent segment highlighted the career journeys of Ken Bachorski (Operations Performance Manager), Kari Reynolds (Sales Manager) and Nick Ulerick (Mobile Equipment Manager), whose stories showcased the dedication, growth and passion that drive our organization forward. 

The remainder of the event was dedicated to celebrating our people, beginning with recognition of our inaugural Sustainability Champions who drive environmentally conscious efforts across their sites. Leadership also honored 23 team members who have surpassed 25 years of service and gave special recognition to Scott Durnal (Flat Rock Loader/Operator) for an extraordinary 43 years with US Aggregates. We also launched our first Rockstar of the Year Award, presented to Justin White (Pleasant Mills/Linn Grove Leadman), who earned the highest number of nominations among our 11 Rockstar winners for 2025, reflecting his exceptional commitment and performance.
