Certified Aggregate Producer Technicians were honored recently for their excellent quality control work and their cooperation with INDOT in 2014. The awards were announced on February 3rd by Ron Walker, INDOT’s Manager of Materials. The Awards Luncheon was held during the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association’s 2015 Winter Workshops at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recognized the state’s best Certified Aggregate Producers for their outstanding performance in 2014. A total of twelve Indiana companies were recognized for providing superior materials to build state highways.
INDOT established the Certified Aggregate Producer Program (CAPP) in 1993 to allow producers to take responsibility for all aspects of aggregate production. Certified producers follow a strict quality control plan. Production, sampling, and testing procedures outlined in each company’s quality control plan are carefully monitored by INDOT. The Certified Aggregate Producer Program saves the state time and money by reducing the amount of material testing done at project sites while maintaining superior quality control.
This year’s Outstanding Certified Aggregate Award winners worked cooperatively with INDOT, participated in an INDOT audit in 2014, and demonstrated a commitment to quality by going above and beyond the minimum requirements of the program.
