US Aggregates Rockstar: Ethan Eckert

Primary Plant Operator, Ethan Eckert has been an influential member of the Flat Rock team. In his role, he helps monitor the plant and assists with maintenance. While Ethan has only been a part of Flat Rock for a little over a year, he has four years total of experience within the mining industry.  

Growing up, Ethan learned to weld from his great uncle on his family’s beef farm. “My grandpa never bought new things. We learned how to fabricate and fix a lot of stuff to make it work,” Ethan said. “That’s where I learned a lot of my fabrication and operating skills.” Ethan then went on to earn his welding certification and now assists with welding and other maintenance projects across the plant. “I like the challenge of making stuff fit and designing new things,” Ethan said.  

According to Plant Manager Nick Ulerick, Ethan shows a lot of potential for growth. “Ethan Eckert is a hardworking individual and very dedicated to his job. He is one of the guys at Flat Rock that will go above and beyond,” Nick said. “He keeps a great attitude, especially when obstacles are presented.” In response to being nominated, Ethan explained that he is happy that leadership is taking notice of his hard work. “It means a lot to me that he thinks I do a good job and I’m succeeding in my job title,” Ethan said. “I come in and try my best every day.”  

In his free time, Ethan likes to camp, work on his family’s farm and hunt deer.
