Project Manager Greg Failes will have been with US Aggregates for over two years in October!

He studied mining and engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. Previously Greg was in a field-based operations role for five years at a materials company and wanted a change to something that offered more variety.

Greg finds the mining industry and the dynamic nature of his project management role to be very enjoyable, and he is happy that he joined the US Aggregates team.

“In one day, I could be looking at finances, analyzing KCF sensor vibrational data or even driving a skid steer,” Greg shared. Versatility is exactly what he was looking for in his work life joining US Aggregates.

Greg leads the ins and outs of capital projects in the south region for US Aggregates, which looks different depending on the scenario. One moment he may be interacting with contractors to ensure their work meets the scope and schedule for the project, all while being performed correctly and safely. The next moment he may be deep in a puzzle of logistical planning. Fitting project pieces together is what project management is all about, and it is a crucial skill that is always being worked.

Operations Performance Manager Ken Bachorski appreciates Greg’s ability to dig deep to get his work done. “He is very supportive, and it has been a pleasure working alongside him on the Performance team,” Ken notes, “He’s always genuine, and you know you can trust him to exceed expectations on his projects.”

In his leisure time Greg enjoys everything the outdoors has to offer. Being an avid dirt bike rider, you can catch him in the air most weekends! He recently took up mountain biking and hiking to help with his dirt biking skills and to be immersed in nature more.

Greg wanted to offer gratitude to his teammates in closing. “Thank you to all my peers who have helped me over the past two years, your support has meant a lot to me,” he said.

Thank you Greg, for your leadership and dedication. You have had a great impact on US Aggregates!
