Midwest Calcium Carbonates (MCC) Leadman Nate O’Hair joined US Aggregates® over eight years ago as a third shift equipment operator and laborer at our 243 quarry.
Prior to coming to US Aggregates, he studied criminal justice in college and worked for Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Putnam County Corrections and for the Putnam County Probation Department as a K-9 handler.
Nate’s daily responsibilities include a wide range of tasks such as assisting with production and maintenance, coordinating with contractors and vendors, scheduling loads, collaborating with the sales team and scheduling employee work hours. He encourages new leadman to just be themselves and lead in a way that’s natural for them.
One of his favorite parts of working at MCC has been witnessing the continued growth in demand for the product. He also has really enjoyed being a safety champion over the last five years, since the Safety Rewards Program’s inception.
MCC Plant Manager Derek Rossok shared that Nate’s leadership and ability to collaborate across teams and prioritize safety have had a huge impact on the team. “Nate has worked with sales to upload schedule requests to the logistics plan along with predicting production runs to meet customer requests while also collaborating with quality control to enhance plant performance of its products,” said Derek.
Outside of work, Nate is enjoying time with his wife Chelsea and their four sons and daughter. His weekends are filled with sports from coaching his 11-year-old son’s Midwest Canes baseball team to watching his 13-year-old son play travel basketball for Go-Time to supporting the Purdue Boilermakers.
He appreciates his US Aggregates family and the opportunities they have provided for him to develop over his career. “Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way and helped me grow to where I am today,” shared Nate.
Nate, the way you bring people together and keep safety a priority has helped strengthen the team and drive progress at MCC. US Aggregates is proud to have you as part of the team!
