Sales Specialist Scott Ruble has been an outstanding team member at US Aggregates for nine years in May! He started his career pursuing education in agriculture production and business management. Following graduation, he found himself joining the mining industry as a dump truck driver. Scott shared this experience educated him on the uses of different materials in the industry and enabled him to be well versed in supporting the various customers he works with daily.
President Caleb Brown admires Scott’s willingness to step in and help when needed. “Whether it’s filling in as a backup at several locations, training new clerks or helping with any ripple ticketing question, Scott’s our guy!” Caleb also appreciates his drive to continually look for ways to improve our shipping and sales processes.
Since joining US Aggregates in 2016 Scott has been a plant clerk, sales coordinator and sales specialist. Sales Manager Jordan Holt expressed that across each role Scott has shown great initiative in serving customers and growing internal relationships. “The success story of Scott’s career is one that gives all employees within US Aggregates a great example of the growth opportunities within our organization,” Jordan said.
Scott’s daily activities involve checking tickets from the previous day, working with plant clerks to ensure orders are being delivered promptly and accurately and looking over any new emails that came in overnight. These could range from sales quotes on projects or questions from customers. Jordan and Scott have been working on developing a strategic system for customer follow-ups to further enhance this process.
The ability for the plant clerks and sales team members to bounce ideas off each other and learn together is what Scott appreciates most about his role. He also encourages new sales specialists to educate themselves on how they learn and observe others. “This will make future trainings and interactions easier and you will be better prepared,” Scott voiced. He also highlighted that it’s okay to ask for help, because this is how we grow and learn together.
Outside of work, you can find Scott barbecuing and socializing by the pool with his family and friends. If he’s not home, he is probably enjoying a family vacation or cruise! He also shared that he enjoys trying to grow new things in his garden.
Scott emphasized he is extremely grateful for the opportunities he’s been able to experience with US Aggregates. He is thankful for where he is today and proud to be a part of such a great team.
